Rug’s Corning career began in computer systems working with new technology and then expanded to
manufacturing planning and systems leadership in Electronics and Technical Products line divisions.  His HR
responsibilities focused on planning, competitive practices, and benefit or compensation leadership.   

For his 31 years of Corning experience, the last eight years he was the Director of Compensation developing
GoalSharing and other performance programs. Pay for performance was the number one priority of the executive
committee resulting from a quality workforce survey. Immediately prior, Rug was responsible for health care cost
containment including medical benefits, safety and corporate medical.

Rug has a BS degree in Statistics from Purdue University and two years as a Lieutenant in the Army.  He is
certified by WorldatWork and APICS.   Mr. Altmansberger has instructed for WorldatWork, authored several
articles and recently the handbook  How-to Series on GoalSharing.  Rug has served as Board President for both
the Corning Family Service Society and the Corning Youth Center.
