
Tom Wilson is the founder and President of the Wilson Group located in Concord, Massachusetts (www.
wilsongroup.com). WGI is a consulting firm that specializes in designing and implementing
performance based reward systems for executives, sales, and total organizations. Their clients include
Acushnet Corp, ACME Packet, iRobot Corp., Enterprise Bank, Safety Insurance, Harvard University and
Mentor Networks.
Tom is an international authority on reward systems and high performance organizations and is the
author of four books. The most recent are: Innovative Reward Systems for the Changing Workplace and
Rewards That Drive High Performance: Success Stories From Leading Organizations. He has written
over 30 articles, book chapters and special features for Fortune Magazine and the Financial Times. He
has been quoted in the Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, Boston Business Journal, and Mass Hi-Tech.
Tom consults with organizations implementing change. He addresses the assessment and design of
executive total compensation plans. He has become an expert on designing long-term incentive plans
for privately held companies. Further, he has extensive experience in developing sales total
compensation plans, and aligning all reward plans with the sales strategy and roles of the organization.
By bringing the executive perspective to sales compensation plans, companies create more robust,
effective and meaningful plan – rewards that simply work and work simply.
Prior to forming the Wilson Group, he was the National Director of Rewards for Aubrey Daniels &
Associates; Partner and General Manager of New England for Hay Group, Inc.; and Director of
Organizational Consulting for the Forum Corporation. He holds a Master’s degree from Vanderbilt
Owen School of Management and Bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University. He lives in
Concord, Massachusetts.
